Send a message to protect the Great Bear Sea

Ocean health is declining faster than at any time in human history. Our oceans and coastal communities face many challenges, from decades of overfishing to destruction of marine habitat to the warming effects of climate change.

Marine biologists tell us that we need to protect more of Canada’s oceans right now to build a thriving future for marine life. One critical place we can protect today is the Northern Shelf Bioregion, informally known as the Great Bear Sea.

Stretching from Campbell River to Bella Bella, to Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii, the Great Bear Sea is home to herring, rockfish, humpback whales, seabirds and many other species.

Right now, Indigenous,  BC and federal governments are asking for public feedback regarding the protection of the Great Bear Sea.

Send a message to them calling for strong, lasting protection for this vital part of Canada’s coast. Click the text box below to edit your message–a personalized message has five times the impact!
